Korat

I lived at Korat, also known as Nakhon Ratchasima, from January until December of 1974. This fair size city is located approximately 250 kilometers north east of the capital city of Bangkok. The following pictures were taken during that time, and include photos of an ordination ceremony that we were invited to for two young men who became monks. This is a tradition in Thailand where young men sacrifice their daily routine and give up all of their worldly possessions to become monks for a period of 30 days or more.
