Pattaya is located approximately 20 kilometers to the north of Sattahip on the Gulf of Siam. While I was stationed at U-Tapao
I visited Pattaya Beach several times. At that time it had yet to become developed into the world class resort that it is
today. There were just a few hotels and restaurants and the water was crystal clear. On one trip, we paid a young Thai fellow
to take us out on his boat to fish near one of the islands off shore. It was truly a paradise as you can see from my pictures
below.
