In 1972, while stationed at U-Tapao Air Base, the USO offered tours to many places throughout Thailand. It was somewhat of
a challenge sometimes to get the tour of your choice on your scheduled days off, but I was fortunate to be able to take such
a tour to the Bridge over the River Kwai and to several other locations. The Bridge on the River Kwai is located near Kanchanaburi
which is approximately two hours by bus to the west of Bangkok. Also included below are photographs of Nakorn Phathom and
Bang Saen which were located along the route we took to the River Kwai.
